We can do whatever we want. While this statement is true it’s not always the best decision for our life. We all have a destiny on our life which means we can’t just go about doing whatever we want. I love in 1 Corinthians 10:23 where the Bible tells us, All things are legitimate [permissible—and we are free to do anything we please], but not all things are helpful (expedient, profitable, and wholesome). All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life]. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean it’s beneficial for you. I tell my kids this all the time! What about those particular things that you know aren’t beneficial and you feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit telling you no or to stop but yet you do them anyways? Those little compromises along the way can eventually make you forfeit your destiny from God. Have you ever found yourself saying, as long as nobody knows about it, it can’t hurt anyone? Or what about the famous, everybody else is doing it? Just because others are doing it doesn’t mean that’s the standard God has put on your life for your calling. The truth is, any secret or lie will always catch up with you. The secret places that your going will end up being a public battle. Whatever you don’t deal with in your life will eventually deal with you. I want to encourage you that if you find yourself dealing with something, God is always faithful to forgive when we confess to Him. If you keep holding back it will eventually affect all areas and relationships in your life. His grace is greater than any secret you could ever have! Let God refresh you and bring light to any area of your life that you are holding back from telling others. And you’ll see, just as His word tells us, old things have passed away behold all things have been made new!
