Want to do karaoke? My first answer is always a big no until I end up in the room and songs start to play and I’m instantly back in a time and place when that song first came out and flooded with tons of memories. In Psalm 98:1 the Bible tells us, sing to the Lord a new song. When I think of a new song it always feel awkward because you don’t know words and its not familiar to you. I love that God is infatuated with doing something new. This tells us that God is ready to do a new thing in your life, and give you a new song, which in turn will make you feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar but once you get used to it, it will turn into a familiar safe song. One of those songs you hear at karaoke and are taken back to an old memory. Maybe the season you are currently in hasn’t turned out the way you had planned and a new song sounds nice but at the same time you don’t want to repeat what has already happened. You have to remember that with a new song you don’t get to keep the old one. Too often we camp out where we weren’t intended to stay. God is always on the move, and if we stay camped out in an area too long, we get stuck behind while God is moving forward. What things has God moved away from because you are still camped out? Life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% of how we respond. Friend, somebody else could win with the cards you have!! You could be surrounded by the new and not see it because you are too busy looking behind you. God wants to do a new thing, we just have to be willing to let Him. All He is waiting for you to do is say yes! If you are currently waiting on a situation to stop, take the next step. Things will stop when you step! Don’t look behind you at what has happened in the past, God already has a solution to your problems, He is ready to sing a new song when you are ready to say yes!
